[84]I don't believe that Oracle has a way to keep trac...... Tim Boles

Subject: inactive session detail
Os info: linux
Oracle info: 11gr2
Message: Hi
Is there anyway with which i can find that how many inactive sessions
were there on database past one month.
My need is to find out the comparison of session connected to
database.Actually application has patched their new release after which
we observed that there are connections at database from application
user not getting released and become inactive..and at any point of time
there are many inactive sessions. So the release upgraded past one
month. Now i want a logical reasoning demanded by management that is
this behaviour observed after upgraded version of application. So i want
to check history for inactive sessions.

As you neither feedback, nor thank, not rate in your previous topics, I
don't see any reason to help you now.

Message: I don't believe that Oracle has a way to keep track of
"inactive" sessions. You do have the DBA_HIST_ACTIVE_SESS_HISTORY view
but as the name states it is for "ACTIVE" SESSIONS. When you run an AWR
report it does show the number of sessions for that period. So I will
be really surprised if there is any way that this is tracked. If you
think about...why would Oracle care about inactive sessions.
